Sorensen Leadership Award

Nominations are Open from November 15, 2018 to January 4, 2019 on our survey page. We seek nominees from both sides of the aisle.

This award will be presented annually to the individuals who model the spirit and mission of Sorensen through the trust, civility and respect they have consistently shown toward others. They create sustainable efforts toward the betterment of a more decent and tolerant civic life and culture for the people of the Commonwealth. 

Award recipients will be exemplars through one or more of the following:

  1. They demonstrate integrity, commitment, and courage to achieve bridges across political, social, and/or economic divisions in the Commonwealth.
  2. They deliver extraordinary service and results as an elected official, board or commission appointee, community leader or volunteer within the Commonwealth.
  3. They demonstrate exceptional leadership in the public, private, or non-profit sector in pursuit of understanding and cooperation consistent with the principles of the Sorensen Institute across the Commonwealth.

Sorensen Emerging Leadership Award 

(Under 40 Years of Age)

They create sustainable efforts toward the betterment of a more decent and tolerant civic life and culture for the people of the Commonwealth.
